3am is a diary video based on Rattner’s experience of living sleep deprived in 24-hour daylight. The midnight sun of Iceland and other Nordic countries attracts artists because of the belief that sleeplessness can spur creativity. Edited in the middle of the night, 3am presents a series of vignettes capturing Rattner’s experience in a semi-dreamlike state.
